They were known to have harvested 60 bushels of wheat and 4 tons of hay per acre, while oats grew 7-8 feet high.. Only 150 acres of Glenbrook’s 750 acres have been developed. Uppaway Estates is a small private gated community of homes that are located on the former Fleishman Estate. The 44 acre lakefront property was purchased by Major Max C. Fleishman in the early 1930’s and served as his home for many years. Located on the East shore (Nevada Side) of Lake Tahoe, Uppaway enjoys a mild winter climate that locals refer to as the “banana belt.” In addition to magnificent sunsets year around, the location is the perfect vantage point to watch winter storms roll across the lake. Lake access for boating, swimming, kayaking, or stand-up paddle boarding is only a short walk or golf cart ride from anywhere in the community. No need to pack the car and drive when you want to enjoy Lake Tahoe water activities. The community also has private tennis and horseshoe courts for residents.
