The neighborhood is extremely pedestrian- and bike-friendly, with easy access to local shopping, dining, and essential services.
 
The Tahoe Keys area can be accessed through the middle of town on Tahoe Keys Blvd and also 15th St off of Highway 89 while on your way to Camp Richardson.
 
Originally constructed in the 1950s and 1960s, the Tahoe Keys neighborhood was developed by dredging 5 million cubic yards of material from the Truckee River marshlands, creating a unique network of inland waterways. The fingers of land were then created which gave the area 11 miles of backyard waterways.
